SAFEGUARDING
GetOn Youths has a coordinated holistic approach to safeguarding – safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We understand our responsibility to promote the welfare of young people and promote a child-centred approach as fundamental to safeguarding and promoting this. A child-centred approach means keeping the child in focus and central to all decision-making whilst working in partnership with them, their families, partner agencies and other significant stakeholders.
GetOn Youths have a robust and comprehensive set of policies and procedures that support best practice and legislative requirements.
WORKING TOGETHER TO SAFEGUARD CHILDREN
SAFE RECRUITMENT
All our staff members are recruited within the safe recruitment framework and should have a clear current enhanced DBS prior to commencing employment. Once in post, ongoing support is in place via supervision and access to mandatory training to enhance their knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures relevant to ensuring the welfare of our young people.
Any disclosures made by young people will be investigated using the inhouse safeguarding protocols and appropriate referrals made to the Local Authority Designated Officer for Managing Allegations against Professionals.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
We have in place various systems to assist in setting and achieving targets. We are a learning organisation; we regularly monitor and review our performance to enable us to continually improve business quality and performance in the best interest of our young people. We believe that our young people have the right to expect the highest standards of service from us and we continually monitor the expectations of local authorities through our organisation’s quality assurance processes.
